I usually add a little garlic to ghee rice. This sounds fabulous! :)

Lakshmi said...

@ Latha,
Jeera and garlic taste go well with this rice. They are the two main ingrediants which bring a different flavor and taste. Taste is further enhanced by the addition of pepper and dry coconut.

Hi Laxmi,

How are u doing??

I do this Garlic rice at home but with a little variation.

In Addition to ur recipie.(Skip Channa dal and urad dal).

After frying Mustard , chillies , jeera, curry leaves and garlic U can add Chooped onions and fry well and add pepper powder and then add cooked rice to it and mix well while the stove is ON. garnish it with coriander leaves......It tastes Awesome..

I prefer Ghee in place of oil...Cause with ghee "Garlic Rise" Tastes awesome and delicious.

@Shweta,
It is nice to know your response. Variations to the recipe always yeilds a new one ;). Enjoy it. We do add ghee to the rice only if we are giving this rice to a lady who is nursing/breast feeding mothers. Well, adding ghee always increases the flavor!! :) count this recipe as a low cal one ;) :smiles:
