ಏನ್ ಅಡಿಗೆ ? roars (ehehehe...) from outside the house........
I said Poori Saagu ....there was sudden change in the voice...ooooh.. ಬಂದೆ ..ಬಂದೆ ಬೇಗ ತಟ್ಟೆ ಹಾಕು ....
ಏನ್ ಅಡಿಗೆ - means what is cooking ?
ಬಂದೆ ..ಬಂದೆ ಬೇಗ ತಟ್ಟೆ ಹಾಕು ....I am coming....get the plates ready (in literal translation)
this is a scene at home whenever I make Poori Saagu at home for breakfast, lunch or dinner ...anytime we mark our sleeves up and get ready to eat Poori..we devour Poori and Saagu .. :D
Dinner is the only meal that I cook at home and we all come home empty stomach ..even my son does not wannt to eat in his day care center..he too adds his voice with dad these days..amma.. dinner ready is it ?..little one is learning to speak Kannada; he is a India born confused Singaporean..(took this statement from J&B of Jugalbandi) so most of the time his spoken English has no grammer ....only spoken English stands "free of rules" in Singapore rest all must abide ....die die must follow la..

I know. The same "poori" situation here too.:) Because I try to avoid too much of frying, it really becomes a celebration.
I think the vegetable sagu looks somewhat like the stew we make, without the coconut milk.

Hi, You need to also fry a small amount of poppy seeds along with other spices to make saagu powder, it gives nice aroma and makes sagu a bit thick also. try it and you will know the difference.
Hi Shilpa,
Thanks for suggestion. I know about adding poppy seeds to saagu; however at home, we do not like the poppy seeds addition.
i tried your sagu recipe today and it really tasted very delicious. just like they give in south indian hotels. thank you so much for the recipe.
