Soya Chunks Curry

Ingredients:
Soya
Chunks: 100 ~ 150g
Milk
– 1Tbsp
Water
for cooking Soya chunks
Onion
– 1
Chili
Powder – 1tsp
Coriander
Powder- 1 tsp
Garam
Masala Powder – ½ tsp
Salt
To Grind
Grated
fresh Coconut- 2 Tbsp
Onion
- 1
Tomato
– 2
Pepper
– ½ tsp
Fennel
Seeds – ½ tsp
Oil, curry leaf and jeera for seasoning
Method :
1.
Boil water to cook soya chunks. When water
starts to boil, add milk and soya chunks. Let soya chunks cook in this water.
When raw smells of the chunks disappears and get cooked, switch off the stove
and drain the water. Gently squeeze soya chunks. Keep this aside.
2. Peel
onions and cut them into rough cubes of 1/2” size. Cut tomatoes too.
3.Heat 1 tsp of oil in a
pan, add onion and tomato and sautee. After the mixture cools down, take them
in mixer grinder along with pepper, fennel and grated coconut. Grind to
smooth paste.

Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in the same pan as used
before. Add jeera. When jeera browns add in onions & ginger garlic paste.
Fry till raw smell from ginger garlic paste reduces. Add onion tomato paste, chili powder,
coriander powder and salt. Give a good stir. Add in cooked soya chunks and
enough water. Bring it to roaring boil or pressure cook this for 1 whistle.
Add garam masala at the end and let it cool for next 10 mins and serve them
with hot phulkas.
